Pearlescent

Pearlescent pigments will provide a subtle, metallic elegance to your project or creation.

They are made from mica pigment flakes and give the effect of a pearl.

The pigment ranges in colour from silvery white or coloured. Optical variations for this pigment vary from a glittery, iridescent shine to a satin finish.

Pearlescent pigments work well with clear mediums (resins, glues, silicones and adhesives)

and various plastics such as PVC, PE, PP and PS. Our mica pigment has a particle size of 10/60µm. This product has a good dispersion rate.

Pearlescent ink is white in colour, but it has a soft, translucent yet colourful lustre when applied to a surface or material. This effect is achieved by light refracting at different levels on the metal oxides in the ink. SFXC pearlescent ink is made from silicone dioxide, and the molecules that make up this ink are coated in metal dioxide.

Our pearlescent inks are water-based and can be used many applications. For example, this product can be used as a base coat to enhance your design. It is suitable for application to paper, board and textiles. Pearlescent inks are commonly used in jewellery, plastic injection moulding, graphics, fashion and other textiles. These pigments will complement neutral or pastel tones in your project. Due to its shimmer and shine, it is an effective product to use in anti-counterfeiting materials.

When printing with this ink, you can use gravure or flexographic printing techniques. Screen printing is another great way to apply this ink onto material. Use a 43T-77T mesh and a medium-shore rectangular squeegee. Once dry, you will need to cure the surface to 165°C for 2-2 ½ minutes.
