Color Shifting Pigments
Have a look at our colour shift pigments…they work like magic!
Colour Changing pigments seem to change colour when viewed from different angles. They are iridescent in quality and will shimmer like a pearl! These pigments are made from translucent flake crystals that have been coated in various types of oxide elements. They are created by structuring micro-encapsulated molecules into numerous thin layers. The thickness of these layers will alter the effect of the pigment: how and what colour can be seen.
A flip pearl colour shifting pigment will transition between two colours. The main colour is more distinguishable and the second is more subtle.
A chameleon pearl colour shifting pigment will transition between four or more colours.
SFXC Colour Changing pigments have a slight metallic appearance and will disperse easily into mediums such as paint. They are rich in colour and thus it is not necessary to apply many layers to achieve the desired effect.
In application, using our pigments over a black surface will result in the most striking of effects, however a white background can also be used.
When mixed with an appropriate binder, Colour Changing pigments can be used for a wide variety of purposes. Combine 5% pigment with 95% of your chosen basecoat. These pigments can withstand temperatures up to 450°C. They have a particle size of 10-60µm.
Currently, popular industrial applications for colour shifting pigments are in the automotive industry and in security, for example note currency.
Other applications include jewellery and craft, ceramics, coatings, electronics, sports, graphics and plastics too.
With the range we provide, SFXC has a rainbow of colours to choose from!
