El pigmento negro termocrómico 27°C comienza a desvanecerse a los 25°C y al llegar a los 27°C se vuelve translúcido, volviendo a la normalidad cuando se reduce la temperatura.
Los polvos termocrómicos son microcápsulas termocrómicas en forma de pigmento en polvo. Se han diseñado especialmente para su uso en sistemas de tintas de base no acuosa, aunque su uso no se limita a ello. Pueden utilizarse para formular tintas no acuosas para flexografía, UV, serigrafía, offset, huecograbado y epoxi (para aplicaciones acuosas recomendamos utilizar lodos termocrómicos).
Los polvos termocrómicos se colorean por debajo de una determinada temperatura y cambian a incoloro cuando se calientan en el rango de temperatura.
